Some tips that I've read or heard about that I want to share.
Do dinner by 10
Eliminate the last minute eat-out cop out by prepping dinners by 10a.m.
(10 the night before if you go to work). meat out of the freezer, veggies
chopped, slow cooker ready or anything else you may need.
Chop Up, or Shread Extra
When you are preparing a meal and your chopping up veggies or shreading cheese
take a look at your meal plan for the week and maybe do extra. This way you will have it all done and it's one less step to do later. You can also cook up the meat and have it ready for later in the week. EX : cook up that chicken and have it ready for chicken in a salad or taco. Your already cooking it, might as well do it at one time.
Take the one-hour challenge
I found this in one of my favorite magazine (All You). Love this magazine.
Set your timer for one hour on a week end day, and then try to get as much prep
work done as you can, before the timer goes off. Slicing and dicing veggies and
cooking meat. You will be able to stock away the building blocks for several dinners.
Don't Forget Local Farm Markets
It's that time of year again. There's certain areas that have areas set up for farmers to sell their goods. Stop by and take a look. You may find some great finds and save some money.
DIY Laundry Supplies
DRYER SHEETS - Make your own by soaking a washcloth in your favorite fabric softner and letting it dry. You can throw it into the dryer and reuse it over and over again.
FABRIC SOFTNER - Instead of a commercial product, add 1/2 cup of vinegar to the rinse cycle. This method will not only soften your clothes but deodorize them as well.
LAUNDRY DETERGENT - Mix together a bar of shaved soap (Fels-Naptha or Ivory), 1 cup Bprax, 1 cup Arm and Hammer Super Washing soda and an essential oil (optional). Homemade laundry detergent is not only simple to make, it costs only about 7 cents per load compared with about 23 cents for a leading detergent.
